shoe benchFollow the design & fabrication of Shoe Bench from start to finish.
Shoe bench was created as a seating device to put on footware in a variety of positions, and provides space for shoe storage. The fabrication was fun, but not without a few challenges. To get the laminate inside the tubes, I heat-formed a wrapped coil in a large kiln. The hole details around the edges of the tubes were painted with a Q-tip. The tubes are connected using hidden brackets that were custom fabricated. This project was completed as part of the 2011 RIT/Wilsonart Challenge. Photo by Elizabeth Lamark, RIT ETC |
